The Cheshire Career and Engagement Hub were delighted to have the opportunity to coordinate the Health Careers stand and to help inspire a large number of young people in the North West to consider the wealth of career opportunities offered by the NHS.
The Cheshire Hub were supported at the event by a wide range of staff from across the North West, including Sean Bradbury HEE (NW), Julie Davison, head of apprenticeships at Halton Hospital, the North West Ambulance Service, East Cheshire NHS Trust, and the Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside Career Hubs.
The exhibition was attended by an estimated 10,000 young people and the Health Careers stand offered a fun, interactive and informative opportunity to gain hands on experience, one to one career guidance, and the chance to explore over 350 exciting and diverse careers including advice on work experience, volunteering and apprenticeships. This message was also reflected in two spotlight talks entitled ‘Building Careers in Health & Care’ which were conducted at the event by Alison Langley.
Sean Bradbury, Lead for Career Engagement for HEE (NW) praised the work of the North West Hubs stating “They have managed to portray the broad breadth and depth of careers and opportunities within Health, whilst remaining accessible and of relevance to the show's audience”
